Therapy for moms in Gig Harbor and across Washington State

When motherhood enters the equation, it’s an automatic game-changer.

Are you feeling out of sync with yourself? Maybe you are experiencing the fatigue of carrying the invisible load. Possibly you are experiencing both the greatest joy and also the greatest fear or stress that you’ve encountered. Maybe you are feeling a deep sense of grief or disorientation as you navigate a motherhood journey that is different than you had envisioned.

In addition to working with those transitioning into motherhood as a perinatal mental health therapist in Washington, I am passionate about supporting women in navigating any season of motherhood. Therapy for women who are also moms can support the development of self-awareness, develop insights into your values in life and motherhood, and find realistic ways to move with intention.

I frequently see moms who are experiencing anxiety, depression or apathy, overwhelm, communication difficulties and grief about the ways motherhood is different than expected. Whatever your experience of motherhood is—we’ll make space for it.

They say “it takes a village to raise a child…” But where is the village?

Experiencing motherhood with limited support is overwhelming and lonely. Therapy and therapy intensives offer women dedicated space and time to reflect, receive support, find healing and uncover the steps that will help them move forward into this season of the motherhood journey in ways aligned with their values and goals.

  • I understand the juggle of motherhood! Sometimes in-person support is helpful to be able to truly focus and prioritize your needs. For this reason I offer in-person therapy in Gig Harbor. I also have many clients who prefer to meet virtually, so I offer online therapy for moms in Washington via a confidential telehealth platform as well.

  • It sure is a juggle. I recommend considering therapy intensives for the busy mom in Washington who is looking to carve out dedicated time to their goals. Therapy intensives can range from 90 minutes to 3 hours, allowing you to truly dive into uninterrupted, focused time. Some of my clients create a self-care day/weekend and layer in an intensive therapy session as part of their holistic self-care plan.

Another way my busy mom clients navigate the motherhood juggle is sometimes coming to my Gig Harbor therapy office and sometimes utilizing online therapy depending on what works best. Having a hybrid therapy strategy is often a game-changer for Gig Harbor and Tacoma moms.

  • Connecting with other moms who are experiencing the challenges of motherhood and are also willing to share with vulnerability is rare. I do occasionally offer groups for moms in the Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, University Place - area women. If you're interested, please reach out!
